How To Post

Want To Run an Adventure?

We want you to run the game! We just need a few pieces of information from you, and you can participate as a contributing Dungeon Master in Terendel: The Aftermath.

To register your adventure, use this form. When prompted for the adventure's icon, choose from this list.

For more information on running the game in Terendel: The Aftermath, refer to our page for Dungeon Masters.

New Contributing Player? Here's A How-To.

You've been chosen by your DM to relate the account of your session for the whole campaign to hear, now what? Not to fear, follow this guide, and you'll see it is as easy as pie.

Step 0: You'll need to be added as a contributing author on the blog. Ask your DM to make sure you are. Once added, you may also need to confirm via an email sent to your account.

Step 1: Writing the post.
Post requirements are between 200 and 500 words long. Try to cover the general plot of your session without getting bogged down in the details. If you want to write a longer account, add a short TL;DR at the top of your post for our less patient readers.

Tip: Be sure to write in character! We don't want to know how Janet the Accountant rolled weird dice, we want to know how Starosh the Aasimar Paladin slew her foes.

To write your post to The Dragon's Flagon, navigate to blogger.com and in the left hand sidebar, select Posts, and then in the middle of the page near the top you will see an orange button, "New Post." Click that button.

Step 2: Formatting the post.

Tip: Make sure you're writing in "Compose" and not "HTML." Near the top of the page you will see a formatting bar. On the left side of the bar, are two buttons. Select "Compose."
  1. Post Title. At the top of the Post Editing page, you will see a text field titled "Post title." Give your account a snappy title, like "We Ventured into the Depths," or "The Whispering Trees."
  2. Campaign and Session Number. At the very top of your post, within the body of the post, write the name of your campaign, the name of your adventure, and the session number of that adventure. (e.g. "Bluegarde: Helja's Return, Session 2")
  3. Your Post. Skip a line, then write your post. If you've written your post somewhere else and  you're copy and pasting into Blogger, you'll need to clear the formatting or it won't show up properly (select all [PC: Ctrl + A, Mac: Cmd + A] and click the T with an X next to it in the top formatting bar in Blogger).
  4. Add a Page Break. A few lines into your post, add a page break by clicking the Page Break button in the top formatting bar (it looks like a paper being torn in half).
  5. Sign. Write your character's name at the bottom. Feel free to include an epithet or title or whatever your character would be likely to include with their own signature.
  6. Photos. If you drew a map, or sketched a character or took a photo of a map, feel free to include it in your post. If you want more people to see it, include it above the Page Break.
Step 3: Backdating.
The post you write should look like it was posted on the day your session took place. On the right hand side of the editing page, under Post Settings, choose "Schedule" (icon looks like a clock), choose "Set Date and Time", and then set the date to the date of your session. Click "Done."

Step 4: Review.
At the top of the page, on the right hand side, you will find a button labeled, "Preview." Click that to see what your post will look like once it is published. Read your content and check for any spelling, grammatical, or informational errors.

Step 5: Post.
When you're satisfied with your post, go back to the Post Editing page and click Publish.

Done!

Tip: If you're still having trouble, contact your DM. Most of them know the Blogger editing system well. Alternatively, contact UberDM Dovid directly, and he will guide you.
